WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Senate voted to acquit President Donald Trump of both Articles of Impeachment. The earlier House vote to impeach received bipartisan opposition. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement:

“Thankfully, President Trump has been exonerated after months of enduring the latest, vindictive attempt to remove him from office. Radical Democrats weaponized the impeachment process using a razor-thin record of evidence for their case, which was fueled by presumptions and hearsay. The damage they inflicted on the institution of Congress and the Constitution will be felt for generations.

“The nation has withstood a divisive process meant to overthrow the President of the United States, and it is time we put this behind us. I hope, for all Americans, Democrats drop their harassment of President Trump and members of his administration. The American people are tired of the relentless pursuit of our duly elected President and want Congress to work together to further American greatness and prosperity.”

Congressman Andy Biggs is a second-term Representative from Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District, representing parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Queen Creek. Congressman Biggs is a member of the House Judiciary and Science, Space, and Technology committees. He lives with his wife, Cindy, in Gilbert.
