Jerry Brown Says People Must Be “Brain Washed” on Climate Change

Posted: November 6, 2017 at 5:49 am   /   by

California Governor Jerry Brown spoke at an event to world leaders in the Vatican Sunday, and said people must be “brainwashed” in order to get them to accept that climate change is real.

In a speech before other world religious leaders gathered at the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Brown lamented the effect of people in the Western world having become comfortable with their way of life, and not wanting to give it up even though it’s killing the planet. Brown mixed elements of politics, theology, and philosophy together as he decried the greed and indulgence of humans who have grown accustomed to a way of life brought about by the use of fossil fuels saying it was going to take more than just passing laws, or talking about it, but rather a concentrated effort to change the way people think about climate change entirely—namely, to to cleanse their minds.

The problem … is us. It’s our whole way of life. It’s our comfort … It’s the greed. It’s the indulgence. It’s the pattern. And it’s the inertia.

The power here is prophecy. The power here is faith, and that’s what this organization is supposed to be about. So, let’s be about it and combine with the technical and the scientific and the political.

To slow the devastation of climate change, society cannot rely only on science and technology and must begin to accept the need for more transformational approaches.

What are some of these “transformational approaches” Brown suggests, using what he calls “prophecy?” Why producing brainwashed people who no longer question the “truth” of climate change of course.

At the highest circles, people still don’t get it. It’s not just a light rinse. We need a total, I might say ‘brain washing.’ We need to wash our brains out and see a very different kind of world.

It is a rare day that you have a member of the global elite community being so open and honest, but there’s a Proverb that says a fool opens wide his mouth, and that certainly applies to Mr. Brown.
