NBC Fake News! Make Up Story About Las Vegas Mass Shooting

Posted: October 11, 2017 at 1:59 pm   /   by

Even as it battles President Trump over charges of disseminating fake news, on Wednesday NBC published a whopper of a false story about the Las Vegas mass shooting.

In an obvious effort to get people to click on their video uploaded to youtube, NBC’s TODAY exclusive interview with a building engineer supposedly contained the startling admission of the shooter warning maintenance man Stephen Schuck to get down before the hail of bullets started. This obviously would be something truly bizarre and hence going to draw attention. The only problem is that it didn’t happen!

As the image shows the original title of the uploaded video was: “Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock Warned Me ‘To Take Cover’: MGM Maintenance Man”.

Today show screenshot with original story, before they changed it.

NBC follows with the script to describe the interview:

Stephen Schuck, a building engineer at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, was on the 32nd floor when the Las Vegas mass shooting began. He tells TODAY that he had been called to check on an exit door and was walking down the hallway when “I started to hear shots ring out” and Stephen Paddock “popped out and yelled at me to take cover.” He adds “I am incredibly blessed that somehow I came out of there alive.”

No-where though does Schuck refer to Paddock doing any such thing. He does say that Jesus Campos, the security guard who was wounded by the shooter after interrupting him drilling in preparation of the massacre, told him to get down and take cover. Campos was the first man on the scene and was actually wounded by a hail of bullets about six minutes before the gunman opened up on the crowd.

As of this writing, the video header as been changed to the more accurate: “MGM Maintenance Man: I’m ‘Incredibly Blessed’ I Escaped Las Vegas Shooting | TODAY,” though the script underneath the video contains the false attributions about the video’s content.

It appears incontrovertible: NBC is fake news!
