Canada Rocked By Terror Attack Involving Vehicles

Posted: October 1, 2017 at 7:08 am   /   by

Police in Edmonton, Canada have a suspect in custody, after he used two vehicles to attack pedestrians and police injuring one officer and four civilians.

he first incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday evening when, according to Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht, a uniformed officer, who had been standing behind a barricade and in front of his police vehicle handling traffic-control duties outside the Edmonton Eskimos-Blue Bombers game, was struck by a white Chevrolet Malibu crashing into the barricade.

Things finally ended when the UHaul truck flipped on Jasper Avenue, where the driver was apprehended and taken into custody. Witnesses told local media they saw the suspect being pulled from the vehicle through the broken windshield and summarily placed in handcuffs.

The name of the suspect has not been released as of right now, and authorities are not sure if he acted alone.

Europe has seen its share of car attacks, hammer attacks, sword attacks, and bomb attacks, by Muslim assailants—some native born, and some newly brought in refugees. Now Canada joins the list.
