The Benghazi Betrayal — Panetta Had Time for Rescue but “Stood Down” Instead

Posted: May 17, 2013 at 4:00 am   /   by

The Benghazi Four were betrayed. They called for help on September 11 but were left to die instead. Since then, Obama’s craven political appointees have tried to cover their backsides, and his, by lying about the time and resources needed to respond.

In the 3-minute May 11 clip below, former Navy Seal Christopher Mark Heben and Col. David Hunt (Ret.) explain how Alert-30 and Alert-60 forces could have been on-site in Benghazi within about 3 hours. Those forces train for missions like Benghazi, and do not, as Leon Panetta has implied, need full intelligence information before deploying.

There was no way Panetta and his politically correct officers could have known at the outset how much time would be needed to effect a rescue.  Lives were at stake. As a precaution, those Alert forces should have been on their way in less than 1 hour after the first distress call. If warranted, they could been recalled at any time. And in any event, they could have provided the missing “intelligence” that Panetta claims had tied his hands.

If Panetta’s family were to call 911 for emergency help, and no one ever came, would he accept any rationalization for failure from the police or fire departments?
