We’ve been PUNKED!

Surprise!  We’ve been duped, fooled and misled into believing that Obamacare is good for America.  Sadly, unlike April Fool’s Day or reality TV, we will be paying for it for more tomorrows than are imaginable.  Rather than enjoying a good laugh at a YouTube video, some of us will be crying; instead of receiving royalties, we will pay royally.

Moms don’t like to be punked unless it’s a good spoof with no residual damage.  Under Obamacare, all women, particularly those who are single moms, middle class, struggling moms, or self-employed, will be hit with a huge tax increase to pay for these subsidies.   Hardest hit will be those making $120,000 or less.  American families, single moms and stay at home moms will be assaulted by this crippling burden. That’s a lot of residual damage.

Because I am self-employed, I pay the whole cost of my health insurance with a $5,000 deductible. Because I am underemployed, I watch expenses carefully, am well informed about my needs, pay attention to my own body, and utilize the plan as little as possible. I am never punked by my health plan.  While expensive, I had a choice and I knew what I was doing when I enrolled.

Under an employer-sponsored plan a few years ago, I took advantage of many things that were probably unnecessary but were “free”.  Freebies tend to be over-used and you know what they say about getting what you pay for.  “Free” is about to turn into a tax increase totaling billions, hitting hardest on those who can least afford it.

I don’t mind paying my fair share, and I like being able to decide what is best for my family.  But under Obamacare, there will be fewer choices will be paying far more than my “share.”  On top of that, I am going to have a whammy of a tax increase to pay for a lot of “free” services that I don’t agree with.  Punked.  Punked-plus!

Being punked makes you feel foolish, vulnerable and embarrassed.  Not enough people in Washington are red-faced with embarrassment.
