Morning OWS roundup: violence, spitting at the Coast Guard, more Jew-hate

You may ask why we conservatives keeping talking about OWS. The reason is simple: the more people learn about them, the more disgusted they will be.

It’s the same reason that Hugh Hewitt gives for subjecting his listeners to ear-bleed-inducing speeches from Obama and the Democrats. The more people hear them, the more they will realize how wrong (and in some cases, rotten) they truly are.

You need to know. Middle American needs to see.

Violence Breaks Out During ‘Occupy Wall Street’ March Toward New York Stock Exchange

group of protestors headed south on Broadway toward the New York Stock Exchange, carrying their brooms. Police were taken off-guard, Sandberg reported. The group swelled quickly and wound up in a confrontation with police as they tried to gain access to Wall Street. The standoff occurred near Bowling Green as they turned left on Beaver Street.

Police scooters were shaped like a V and moved toward the protestors in the standoff. One man lost his balance, and was run over by a police scooter. Police descended on the protestor and got him out from under the bike, but violence broke out. Some witnesses tell Sandberg the man was beaten during the arrest.

Sandberg reported police clashed with some protestors, wielding their night sticks and batons. A police officer in a white shirt, possibly a captain, hurled his megaphone and wound up rolling around in the street with a protestor, throwing punches. Other officers surrounded the white-shirted officer, throwing punches.

Police say the protestors were throwing bottles and bags of garbage at officers, triggering the police response, Sandberg reported. Police say they were trying to control the situation when it got out of hand.

A number of arrests have been made, Sandberg reported.

Imagine this happening at one—just one—tea party event. The collective frisson of the media would be almost as palpable as their stampede to report it incessantly.

More raging anti-Semitism from OWS (thanks to Ringo and PJ Tatler):

Anti-Semitic Occupy Wall Street protester: “The Jews control Wall Street! These are the Jews! The Jews control Wall Street. Google it! Google Wall Street Jews. Wall Street Jews! Their names are Jewish — do the homework, do the research. The Jews control Wall Street!”

First, at Occupy Los Angeles:

Read the whole thing

Now, all of this is appalling, but it appears that the left, true to form, is also reverting to its old ways:

USCG warns staff after Occupy Boston protesters spit on Coast Guard officer

And here we were, being skeptical that the Occupy Movement was anything like the 1960s:

Coast Guard member spit on near Occupy Boston tents:

The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon near Occupy Boston protesters.

The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her.

Now, the Coast Guard is warning all staff working on Atlantic Avenue to avoid those protesters while in uniform.

I have written on numerous occasions that the modern left’s restraint in not spitting at or generally insulting the armed forces is a matter of PR, not a true change of heart. They saw how much anger they engendered by treating returning soldiers so badly in the 1970s, so they decided for purely PR reasons to stop. But I have long contended that the mask would fall, and it has, on numerous occasions. So there you have another one. Absolutely reprehensible.

Speaking as someone who has been assisted at sea by the Coast Guard in a dangerous situation, I have a special fondness for them. But no matter what service, these lefties aren’t fit to shine the shoes of the lowliest private or sailor.
